FastMed

I was failed a non dot physical because my blood pressure was 148/80. He insisted I go to my provider & have them write note saying theyve managed & controlled my BP.

My provider couldnt do that without monitoring me. My provider did state I could return to work & prescribed me BP medication. FastMed still failed my non dot physical. Everything else checked off.

Federal guidelines show that they cant fail my physical for that & FastMed Lumberton NC assured me I wouldnt be going to the electrical job that requested the physical.

Now Ive missed a weeks work, $3,000. I think the clinic or PA that failed me, should pay

Did your provider who prescribed medicine sign off that a long range plan was in place and he was monitoring you? This statement with his recommendation that your BP was under control and you were cleared to work should have been enough. If he did not go this far then FastMed will fail you but it’s not their fault.

I cut my thumb on December 23. Out of an abundance of caution.

I thought I would stop by at 9 AM on December 24 to see about getting antibiotics. The lobby was completely empty and the lady who helped me asked if I had an appointment. Of course I was a little *** puzzled as this is not a primary care physician but an urgent care center which advertises no appointments needed on the door and on their website, I calmly politely said no I dont have an appointment there is no one here. She turned the monitor 180 to show me digital appointments that have been made every 15 minutes.

I asked her what that was about and she replied, theyve been doing that for about two years when everyone was sick. It is nearly impossible to get a human being on the phone if you try to call one of their offices to complain.

I will be reaching out to our local news station to do an exposé on this. Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future, but it most assuredly is not urgent care.

Incompetent and Dangerous

I came in for concern about a kidney infection after a UTI. Was treated by an NP, Mike. Gave me a cursory exam and stated I had no infection. How did he know after such a brief exam? I had no fever, he stated, since my temperature was 98. However, the tech never took my temperature. Mike cut me off as I attempted to provide medical context for my current symptoms. Laughed when I stated I thought I had a fever, though I had not yet taken my temperature. Absurdly unprofessional. This place is part of a for - profit chain. The medical equivalent of a gas station convenience store.

The Basic physical I wanted was waaay off. My height is five foot seven not five foot four. The BP cuff wouldn't tighten becaise the velcro was slipping. The provider was impatien with me, looking at

Why would you show up with filthy glasses when they are going to screen your vision? Why would ANYONE wear filthy glasses regardless? And if you already know sooooo much about your health and the medical profession then why don’t you stay home and do your own physical?

Arrived for scheduled appointment with excellent front desk staff that made check in quick and simple. 20 minute wait but not concerned because my bladder was not ready to perform the service I was there for.

Employee Jen with condescending tone letting me know "give a sample or go sit back in lobby for 1530 minutes and we can't give you another water for one hour." As I exited the treatment door she stated that if I feel like I am ready before the time to let front desk staff know. Well, I let the front desk staff know several times, but Jen kept calling back other clients who just arrived as walk-ins. 45 minutes later she calls me back with a smug smile on her face which disappeared when I asked her for her name.

I usually don't post complaints and let bad experiences alone but due to her actions (tone initially, time she had me wait despite being available, and her facial gesture when she "decided" I had waited enough time) I feel inclined to. This does not seem like an isolated incident and I hope to deter her or any other employee of FastMed from treating a customer this way.

So you showed up for a urine test with an empty bladder and this is somehow someone else’s fault?

I have prior I have have provided the receipts from his initial purchase of the Covid test which should have been covered by his insurance but was never billed in addition to other things and I get zero recourse $89 is not $210 which is what Fastmed charged me for a Covid test in 2019 when they should have been free I had insurance but that was never billed

I'm sure three cars belonged to the 3 employees , which left two cars. The two receptionists lied just to get out by 4pm. It's ok we went to Medac more professional any way !! Lying *** !!

Perhaps your attitude is what made them choose not to see you. No medical provider is OBLIGATED to see you. If you walk in with the sense of entitlement you exude in your email, they will rightfully tell you to go pound sand!

Their documentation was flimsy. I almost got kicked off a ship for their Covid test results. They didn't fully acknowledge my full insurance packet and took the one I think was the easiest to use. Besides my Tricare, which they took, not my Medicare or private insurance. As a result, a year later I got a collection notice indicating I owe them money. They had not bothered to write, email or call me concerning the issue so I had to pay out-of-pocket for something my insurance company would have covered. Truly not the greatest in my book.

Took my daughter in with stomach bug she was weak and dehydrated they tested her and confirmed dehydration, the provider refused to give her iv. He also stated he didnt really do those he wasnt to good at it. So she was send back home with dehydration. I went in at 8:30 am to be scheduled at 10:45 and still had to wait another hour to be seen and send home worse than what I took my daughter in the first place. Absolutely a waste of time, not professionals at all.

I would say zero stars for customer service all the way around!

Original review Nov 06, 2022

I called the location in advance to ensure service was provided and was told yes. I scheduled an appt online.

When my daughter arrived for the appt she was told that she would still need to wait 4-5 hours and that our insurance would not cover the service. I was already aware that we would need to pay so not an issue. Then she was told that they dont do physicals and could not complete the form. The lady at the desk was very rude and argumentative and refused to speak with her further.

I am 4 hours away and when I called I was basically told the same thing and that I could call corporate if I want too and she laughed and hung up. I am still in shock at the allowed behavior by these 2 ladies.

We will for sure spread the word to the others who also need a physical completed to avoid this clinic. Give your money to someone who may provide a respectful, courteous environment for young students.

Upset with how Im treated

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This location is closest to my home. But, each time I come here, the receptionist is rude and talks down to me.

I guess I keep hoping a change in staff means a change in attitude, but each visit is the same.

Today, I asked the receptionist a question, and she answered, then told me I didn't need to be so rude. I said I wasn't being rude, I didn't understand, so I asked a question, wasn't I allowed to do that. She continued to say the tone of my voice was rude and then continued to argue with me.

She was snippy on every phone call I heard her take and each person I heard her talk to. But, I was the rude one???

Poor Customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Now prior to July 24,2022 all of my interactions with this office in Taylor,Texas have been very professional. From the front desk to the the medical department.

Now I have been going to this clinic since about 2018 or 19 for minor issues. Always top notch service. Every interaction since then excluding meeting with(Rachel or Ann) has been less than stellar. Bineeta Shakla N.P.

has been condensing or argumentative during every interaction.

I understand she is the medical authority in this matter, but a client likes to know that they are being heard when it comes to their health concerns. I don't feel that level of concern or professionalism when dealing with this practitioner.
